• Aug. 2000 — Sanitation Districts agree to purchase the landfill from Gold Fields’ Arid Operations contingent upon resolution of litigation
• Dec. 2002 — Legal challenge resolved. Sanitation Districts completes landfill purchase
• Sept. 2003 to Feb. 2005 — Comprehensive master plan for landfill development completed
• Oct. 2005 — 1,848 acres of the landfill property fenced. 32 desert tortoises relocated outside the fence
• Feb. 2007— Completed construction of 2-million gallon water tank and power supply facilities
• Dec. 2008 — Roads, Drainages, and Cell 1 Liner construction completed
• 2009 — All construction of landfill infrastructure completed, including operations facilities and water distribution systems. Site ready to receive waste by truck
• 2010 to 2011 — Rail yard and rail spur construction
